Nicholas Wilks has been appointed as the new Musical Director of the Edinburgh Bach Choir, replacing Stephen Doughty.
Nick is currently the Musical Director of the Greenock Philharmonic Choir and the Paisley Sinfonia. He is also a volunteer for Cumnock Tryst and Sistema Scotland. Before he came to Scotland with his family, he was Master of Music (Director of Music) then Second Master (Deputy Head) at Winchester College.
Nick has worked with many singers including Bryn Terfel, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Claire Rutter. He has prepared choirs for Sir Colin Davis, Sir David Willcocks, Sir Andrew Davis, Neeme Jarvi and André Previn to name a few.
His experience and repertoire is both broad and extensive and he will no doubt challenge and inspire the choir in our next chapter.
